Eight Addicting Flash Video Games 

Flash video games are the newest craze in online gaming.  They are easy to program, take very little computational power to host, and users like them because they are simple strategy or task-based games and they load quickly.  Flash video games don’t suffer from slow streaming or constant bug fix patches like many larger online platformer or role playing games.  Despite the fact that many flash games are somewhat repetitive, they are addictive because they challenge you to constantly post a new high score.   You can compete against other players online, or download a version of the game and track your own scoring progress.  Here is a rundown of some of the most popular online flash games to date. 

1.  Bejeweled 

In Bejeweled you have to flex your hand-eye-coordination in swap jewels about the board to make lines of three or more in a matching color.  As you do this, your score increases and new jewels fall in from the top of the screen to replace those you’ve cleared.  Groups of 4 or 5 earn you special bonuses that you can use to maximize your score on each round.

 2.  Bow Man 

While simple and quick to play, Bow Man is a fun challenge when you have a few minutes to kill.  Your character is an archer with the simple task of shooting an enemy target.  You will have to determine the correct angle and force with which to launch your arrows. 

3.  Line Rider 

This playful and artistic flash game lets you draw what essentially amounts to an obstacle course and then watch your line rider travel through it.  You can make him to flips, crazy jumps, and daring crashes.  Watch him ride your course and stop or pause at any time to make adjustments.  You can even save your course when you’re all finished to share with other gamers.

 4.  Portal 

Portal is a platformer where your character has to progress through levels, completing tasks and locating and activating a portal that leads to the next stage.  While the graphics are simplistic, the game plot is not – Portal will keep you entertained for hours.

 5.  Yeti Sports 

There are a number of Yeti games available online, but in Yeti Sports, your Yeti character picks up a penguin, takes a big wind up and tosses the little penguin as part of an Olympic competition.  Toss for height or for distance, but be sure to break the record!

 6.  Crimson Room 

Crimson Room is a logic game that allows you to interact with the game environment to find a way out of the building that your character has been trapped in.  The game offers very little instruction, leaving you to click about the scenery and uncover clues on your own.

 7.  Zuma 

A modern twist on Bejeweled, Zuma also challenges you to match colored spheres in order to clear a board.  You work against the clock to shoot new balls from the frog’s mouth in attempt to knock out groupings of similar color.  A few fun bonus spheres can be activated to slow the clock, eliminate an entire color from the board, or help you rack up bonus points.
